Intellidome review from professional ironer – Gill Knight

The lovely people from Morphy Richards sent me an Intellidome to try – why? Because I run The Smoothing Iron, an ironing service based in Stone Staffordshire, and as an expert in the field they wanted my opinion.

I was VERY impressed. The weight of the iron itself isn’t great so your arm isn’t tired from lifting the iron during use. But don’t be fooled! The weight doesn’t affect the quality of ironing produced.

The steam generator is easy to fill, holds a large amount of water for a long session. If you don’t use it all – the method to empty the reservoir is simple and efficient.

This is the beauty of the Intellidome. Once you use the steam facility then even the hardest, stiffest cottons can be smoothed into submission. The powerful jet of steam goes right through the fabric – and even out of the bottom of the ironing board!

There are a great deal of features on the Intellidome; they all work well and are intuitive to the user, so what may appear complicated at first sight really isn’t.

Pros: Easy to set up, Good design, Robust, Simple to use
Best Uses: Blouses, Handkerchiefs, Pillowcases, Shirts, Trousers

Really easy to set it up and use, just pour in the water, switch it on and away you go. All the usual settings and temperatures. It has a handy steam switch under the handle which is very convenient. The finish that you get is really professional and so much better than is achieved with cheaper products. Very clear illuminated panel on base unit and easy to follow instruction manual.Yes it is a bit bulky, but aren’t all similar products too? The water level indicator when filling could be clearer, but a small gripe with what is an excellent product. Get one you will not be disappointed with your investment.
